ABOUT US
Grace: “Dad, I need letters of recommendation from my teachers for college.”
Me: “But you are just a freshman. Why are you worried about something which should happen 3 years from now?”
This conversation was the moment I realized I needed to help my children focus on the right activities based on their age and grade. They didn’t understand what was important and to be honest, I didn’t either but I needed to help.
I’m a dad
Hi, my name is Kyle and I’m a father of four.
I was a terrible high school student. I wasn’t focused, motivated, organized, or ready for the challenge of high school and certainly not college. After high school I enlisted in the military to get the discipline I needed and although the military helped me prepare for life, it’s not the path I want for my children.
So when I saw Grace struggling just like her older brother Jack had in his Freshman year, I jumped in to help out.

Version 1: A Spreadsheet
I searched for a roadmap designed for high school students but didn’t find much. I found pieces in random places on the web but certainly nothing comprehensive so I created my own roadmap using a simple spreadsheet to help visualize the process.
Parents talk
As my family started to use this new roadmap, I shared it with friends and colleagues of high school parents and that’s when I learned, I wasn’t alone.
Other families were struggling and that’s when I decided to share what I had created but I didn’t do it alone.
